  1. The French Quarter has to be THE number one spot in this party town. Here, one can find the finest of restaurants, superb hotels and activities that never end.
  2. Bourbon Street is the epic center of The French Quarter. Stretching thirteen blocks, this street epitomizes what New Orleans was when founded in 1718 by Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville.
  3. Jean Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop began life around 1772 as a blacksmith shop by the Lafitte brothers to disguise what went on in the back (one can allow one's imagination go here). Today it is a bar and restaurant.
  4. The Old Absinthe House came into being in 1806 as an importing business. Later it became a saloon and today continues the saga.
  5. New Orleans Street cars provide one of the greatest ways to see this fabulous city. It is the oldest streetcar service in the U.S., even older than San Francisco. The St. Charles Line is the oldest line, continuously running for over 150 years.
  6. The Beauregard-Keyes House once owned by famous Civil War General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, famous as the New Orleans native who ordered the first shots fired at Fort Sumter 1n 1861.
  7. Longue Vue House and Gardens, a hidden paradise of gardens and a beautiful house featuring period furniture.
  8. The Magnolia Mansion, listed as one of the most romantic inns in America, is an Antebellum Mansion, filled with antiques and treasures. One can spend the night at this magnificent mansion if one so desires.
  9. The New Canal Lighthouse built in 1839, recently restored, and open to visitors. It is rich in history and offers one an opportunity to learn of some of New Orleans rich history.
  10. The Old U.S. Mint is the only building in the U.S. that served as both a Confederate and a United States Mint, filled with many artifacts of this period.
