Palawan was said to have gotten its name from the Chinese words “Pa Lao Yu.” It was believed that one of the earliest settlers in Palawan were immigrants from China. Palawan is home to thousands of unique and endangered fauna and flora, that is why the country's efforts are geared towards protecting our precious natural resources in the area. Included in Palawan province are the municipalities of Coron, Kalayaan, Taytay, El Nido, Balabac, Brooke's Point and many more.

Palawan is also known for its pristine beaches with clear blue waters and fine sands. Tourists loved Palawan for its water resources and its evergreen surroundings. Palawan also offers various water and land activities for the tourists like diving, snorkeling, water sports, kite surfing, camping, trekking, spelunking, etc. Due to the fact that it is geographically distant from other points of the country, Palawan boasts of its highly diverse and unique flora and fauna which will surely leave everyone in awe of its magnificence.
